Health Safety

Indoor Health safety

We Jubaer Group implement guidelines and regulations to ensure heat-related prevention practices are in place to protect our workers. Key requirements of our draft standard regarding indoor heat includes:

  • Establishing, implementing, and maintaining a heat illness prevention plan;
  • Implementing emergency response procedures for signs and symptoms of heat illness and contacting emergency medical services, if necessary;
  • Providing water and access to cool-down areas maintained below 82 ° F;
  • Taking temperature or heat index measurements during work shifts and maintaining records of measurements to assess the effectiveness of the employer’s control measures;
  • Closely monitoring new or newly assigned employees while they acclimate to hot conditions;
  • Training workers and supervisors in the risks and signs of heat illness; and
  • Using administrative controls or providing heat-protective equipment if engineering controls cannot reduce the temperature and heat index below the standard’s limits.

Outdoor Health safety:

We Jubaer Group consider taking the following steps to protect our worker’s health:

  • Clothing: Outdoor workers are advised to keep covered up comfortably. It is not uncommon for employers to consider relaxing the usual dress code when it is very hot outside; hats should be used in relevant conditions to protect the head.

  • Hydration: We encourage workers to keep hydrated by providing cool water in the workplace, combatting heat stress and overheating. Drinking water regularly will help prevent dehydration and is preferable to coffee or tea where hydration is concerned.

  • Shade: Periods out of the sun can be encouraged by employee breaks in the shade where possible. Workers who can rest comfortably and rehydrate are more likely to be more productive.

  • Keep food cool: When employees bring their own food to work, it needs to be kept cool during warm conditions to prevent the possibility of illness and time off work resulting from contaminated food.

  • Work rate: Schedule work so exposure to the sun is minimized. Always be aware of the amount of labor needed and the amount of time required for it to be done.

  • Heat stress: Where possible, control workplace temperature inside. Outside workers need regular breaks, with access to shade, and good hydration to reduce the possibility of heat stress.

Construction site health safety

We Jubaer Group maintain construction security by means of the following concerns:

  1. Ensure that scaffolding is securely installed
  2. Properly train all employees
  3. Don’t just use ppe clothing– equip your teams with the right ppe

Other preventive measures that make safe conditions certain are:

  • Regular inspections of the site and the machineries to detect hazards in the first place
  • Selection of the right PPE (respirators, helmets) to avoid inhalation of asbestos, dust and fiber with provision for appropriate trainings.
  • Avoid repetitive motions and use long-handled tools to reduce the need of bending down.
  • Ensure safe dismantling procedures are in place
  • Site traffic (for vehicles or moving equipment) should be planned and managed to avoid fatalities onsite
  • Pneumatic silencers should be used to reduce noise; electrical hazards (faulty wiring) must be checked and firefighting equipment should be in place
